A celebration of the heart

Cloud Of I is the musical vision of singer, songwriter and sound healing facilitator Yuli Shafriri. Fully live, the band weaves medicine songs and tribal ecstatic dance with music from the Middle East, the Sahara, Brazil and the Andes, touched by desert-psychedelic rock.

The set moves from meditative, heart-opening songs into full celebration. A space to dance, sing, pray and feel together.

Debut EP Gazing (Batov Records, London, 2021) was played on BBC Radio 6 Music (Gideon Coe) and KEXP. The band has since toured across Europe and Central America.

From one voice to a full celebration

Every Cloud Of I gathering follows the same path, from stillness into dance.

  1. Yuli in white, sitting barefoot among tree roots in a forest, playing guitar

    It begins with a voice

Yuli draws on traditional singing from many cultures. Her voice and improvisation carry people somewhere dreamy and open.

  2. Yuli playing guitar and a bandmate playing hand drum, sitting on the grass Yuli playing to a small room, with the drummer behind her

    Songs shared in a circle

Close up and unplugged, the songs open a space for every voice to join in.

  3. Yuli with a guitar behind a low altar of candles, singing bowls and plants

    Silence and prayer

Medicine songs and prayer songs from the Middle East to the Andes make a gentle container for stillness.

  4. The band in white playing guitars, bass and drums in a colourful courtyard

    The band joins in

Guitar, flute, drums and a worldwide collective of musicians. The lineup grows from intimate trio to full ensemble.

  5. Yuli singing and playing guitar on stage at Ancient Trance festival Yuli raising her hand while singing on the purple-lit stage at Guardians festival

    Into full celebration

By the end, the whole room is dancing. Here at Ancient Trance in Germany and Guardians in Slovenia.
